Job Description: Loader Operator (Concrete Batching)

Location: Sunshine Coast, QLD

Positions Available: 3

Work Type: Full-Time Casual ($40–$42 Hour + Overtime & Saturdays)

Start Date: ASAP

Position Overview

Are you a morning person with a knack for heavy machinery? We are seeking three skilled and motivated Loader Operators to join our fast-paced concrete batching plant on the Sunshine Coast.

This isn’t just a job; it’s a career. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, maintain a "safety-first" mindset, and are eager to progress within the company. With a consistent 40–42 hour work week plus plenty of overtime and Saturday shifts, this role offers excellent earning potential and long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities

As a Loader Operator, you are the engine room of the plant. Your primary focus is ensuring the batching process never stops by keeping the bins full and the materials organized.

  • Stockpile & Hopper Management: Efficiently operate front-end loaders to feed aggregates and sand into hoppers to meet production demands.

  • Inbound Material Handling: Coordinate with delivery drivers to receive, weigh, and stockpile raw materials.

  • Quality Control: Visually inspect materials for contaminants or moisture variations to ensure the highest quality concrete mix.

  • Daily Maintenance: Perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance on the loader (greasing, cleaning, fluid checks) and report any defects immediately.

  • Site Upkeep: Use the loader and manual tools to keep the yard clean, manage spillages, and ensure a hazard-free environment.

  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively via radio with the Batch Plant Manager to prioritize tasks based on the daily pour schedule.

Requirements & Qualifications

We need reliable operators who can hit the ground running. To be successful, you will need:

  • Licenses: A current National Heavy Equipment Ticket (LL Class) and a general construction Induction (White Card).

  • Experience: Proven experience operating loaders in a high-volume environment (quarrying, civil construction, or concrete experience is highly regarded).

  • Reliability: You must have reliable transport and a proven track record of punctuality—early starts are a core part of this industry.

  • Physical Fitness: Ability to handle the physical demands of a yard role, including climbing in/out of machinery and performing basic manual labor.

  • Attitude: A proactive approach to work and the ability to work independently without constant supervision.

Why Join Us?

  • Earning Potential: Solid base hours (40–42 per week) with consistent OT and Saturday rates to boost your take-home pay.

  • Career Progression: We believe in promoting from within. For the right candidates, there are clear pathways into Batching, Plant Management, or Technical/Testing roles.

  • Local Work: Stay on the Sunshine Coast—no more long commutes to Brisbane.

  • Immediate Start: We have three vacancies ready to be filled right now.
